Leveling a tailor

Introduction
Tailoring in World of Warcraft allows you to make cloth armor. Classes that wear cloth armor are mages, warlocks and priests. To level tailoring, you do not need another profession to gather supplies. You receive cloth by looting bodies of enemies that wear clothing and armor. Leveling tailoring will allow you to make armor that gives the wearer special protection and resistances as well as a better armor rating as well as bags and other novelty items.
Instructions
Difficulty: Challenging
Steps
  1. Train to be a tailor. You can do this by finding the trainer in any of the major cities. Ask a guard if you need help finding a tailor
  2. Kill enemies that wear clothing and armor and stockpile the cloth. You will start out receiving linen cloth and progress through wool, silk, mageweave, runecloth and then specialty cloths.
  3. Create bolts of linen cloth to progress to level 50. You will need several bolts of linen cloth to make other items so you may want to just focus on the bolts until you reach skill level 50.
  4. Become a journeyman tailor by training at the tailor trainer at skill level 50. Your character level needs to be 10 or higher.
  5. Use your bolts of linen to create other items until you can begin making bolts of woolen cloth. Make bolts of woolen cloth until skill level 105 and then use the bolts of woolen cloth to create other items to get your level to 125 or higher.
  6. Visit the tailoring trainer to become an expert tailor at skill level 125. Your character level needs to be 20.
  7. Start making bolts of silk cloth until skill level 145. Use the bolts of silk cloth to level your skill up to 175 and then make bolts of mageweave cloth. Use the bolts of mageweave to reach skill level 225.
  8. Go to Tarren Mill if you are a Horde character or Theramore Isle if you are an Alliance character to become an artisan tailor at skill level 225. Your character needs to be level 35.
  9. Continue making items. This is where tailoring becomes a grind. It takes a lot of reagents to make one item and you have to have more specific reagents. Stick with it. Make bolts of runecloth at skill level 250.
  10. Travel to Hellfire Peninsula in Outland and train to be a master tailor at skill level 300. You can specialize at tailoring level 350 in spellfire, shadowweave or primal mooncloth tailoring.
Tips & Warnings
  1. Tailors can make a lot of money off of selling bags in the auction house. Twelve slot bags and higher sell well.
  2. Make novelty items such as tux shirts, wedding dresses and different types of shirts. These items do not give the wearer armor or statistic benefit, but they do sell well at the auction house because they give a character a different look.
